elpa-deferred software package provides simple asynchronous functions for Emacs Lisp, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elpa-deferred
elpa-deferred is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elpa-deferred package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elpa-deferred *
You will get with elpa-deferred package name, version, architecture and description in a table
